Hispanic and Latinx Scientists

In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, the Department of Commerce's United States Patent and Trademark Office is recognizing some Hispanic Americans whose inventions contributed to the nation's social and economic well-being.

This guide provides links to resources for children, young adults, teachers and the general public on Latinx/Chicanx in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and related fields.

The Hispanic Reading Room is the primary access point for research related to the Caribbean, Latin America, Spain and Portugal; the indigenous cultures of those areas; and peoples throughout the world historically influenced by Luso-Hispanic heritage, including Latinos in the U.S. and peoples of Portuguese or Spanish heritage in Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

"The NHSN is dedicated to improving the health equity of Hispanics by: Increasing the amount, quality, and dissemination of interdisciplinary translational research; and fostering the development and advancement of Hispanic scientists to promote future leaders."
