See below for ENG 100/101, ENG 102, HIS 101, and PN 115 library IL assessment reports.
Observations
The elements of citations are being assessed as part of the Communications General Education Outcome 2: Employ and document credible sources of information. The library IL assignment has several citation questions.
Students are still performing poorly on the citation questions despite additional instruction being added to the program and the assignment. The scores would improve if I added a slide designed to tell them the selection they chose was incorrect and to guess again. Would this help them retain the information, though?
Update the Boolean and evaluation questions for 2025-2026.
Students were prompted to complete an optional anonymous survey after completing the library information literacy assignment. Unfiltered student responses to the survey are shown in the PDF below.
Seven ENG 102 classes participated in the online IL program with an assignment. The assignment served as bonus points for three of the classes and not all students participated.
As expected, the students performed better on all three IL Gen. Ed. Outcomes and citation questions than ENG 100/101 students.
