What is Information Literacy?

SC4 Goal of the Information Literacy Program:
Students will be able to evaluate sources critically and effectively for relevance and usefulness and use them ethically.
The IL program teaches you how to:
- Access the library’s e-resources 24/7 from any device with internet access using your SC4 email and password.
- Use the library databases to find peer reviewed materials.
- Evaluate sources for quality, validity, and bias.
- Create advanced database and internet searching strategies.
- Identify elements of MLA/APA citations.
- Cite sources responsibly.
