Founded in 1973, PFLAG is the first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

The It Gets Better Project’s mission is to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) youth around the globe.

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.

GLAA lobbies the D.C. Council; monitors government agencies; educates and rates local candidates; and works in coalitions to defend the safety, health and equal rights of LGBTQ families. GLAA remains the nation’s oldest continuously active gay and lesbian civil rights organization.

The Archives of Lesbian Oral Testimony was founded in 2010. We digitize and make available online oral histories and testimony of same-sex and same-gender attracted women, inclusive of Two Spirit, queer, bisexual, and lesbian women, transmen, and others. The archives and the web site is supported by and operates out of Simon Fraser University Library's Special Collections and Rare Books. Blue Water Allies are a bridge of solidarity between LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies to promote the common good of the entire community. The Blue Water Allies will create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals by operating the Blue Water Ally Center. The Center will provide a safe environment for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to gather and support one another. The Center will provide an affirming environment for educational programming, support groups, resources for physical and mental healthcare, social, and artistic opportunities. Blue Water Allies will champion acceptance, understanding, visibility and justice for LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Blue Water Area and beyond.

This film presents the premiere of the stage adaption of the award winning film, The Play Within, an emotional and issue-focused fictional drama based on the lives of two real people—Matthew Shepard and Tyler Clementi—and their tragic, untimely deaths. After the play, an audience talkback allows for an exploration of this experience. This is followed by a wide-ranging discussion by psychiatrists, social service providers, clergy, and others who illuminate the history, evolution, and current circumstances that face the LGBTQ community. 53 minutes. 2017

This is a story about the first-of-its kind LGBTQ retirement community. Fountaingrove Lodge in Santa Rosa, California, is the nation’s first state-licensed continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that’s specifically for LGBTQ+ seniors and their straight allies. 40 minutes. 2021

NPR's Embedded has aired its new three-part series, All The Only Ones, an exploration of the little-known and often neglected history of trans youth in America. Trans youth have become a hot-button topic in culture, media and politics. On All The Only Ones, host Laine Kaplan-Levenson moves past the debates by speaking with real trans kids in the U.S., as well as going back in time to learn about some of the earliest documented trans youths in America.
