Below is an open source article from OneSearch. Note how it states that it is open source on the left. Many reputable journals are now published in an open source format.
Unlike some open source materials, this database show you how to find the citation to the article.
Choose the MLA citation style. Copy and paste into your Works Cited page.
You will need to correct a few items in the citation above:
- Capitalize the first letters of the main words of the article and journal titles.
- Add access date at the end of the citation. For example: Accessed 23 Nov. 2020.
- Double space and create a hanging indent.
If an open source article does not show you how to cite, you may go back to the OneSearch result and click on the quotation marks.
Choose MLA citation style.
OneSearch citations usually provide the basic information or the beginning of the MLA citation.
Copy and paste into your Works Cited.
You will need to:
- Add access date. For example: Accessed 23 Nov. 2020.
- Add name of database or D.O.I.
- Double space and create a hanging indent.
