1923-1925 St. Clair County Junior College was established. In the first year the college used the high school library facilities. In the second year of the Port Huron Junior College the Library was given a $400 budget. 1957 The college moved back to the former Port Huron High School building and the Library moved to the 3rd floor of the building. It was expected the space could seat from 80 to 85 students. The collection was 5,215 volumes and subscribed to over 40 periodicals and 3 newspapers. (Image from The Triton, 1959) |
1967 The Port Huron Junior college became St. Clair County Community College. |

1968 The College opens the Clara E. MacKenzie Library Science Building. This building was designed to house the college library in addition to science laboratories and classrooms. 200 students participated in the moving of the library from the Main Building to new Library Science Building, McMorran Blvd. was blocked to facilitate the books moving across the street. |

1970 The library changes from the Dewey Decimal System to Library of Congress. |

1974 The college library becomes known as the Learning Resource Center |
2006 The Learning Resource Center moves to the expanded College Center building. |
