Writing Center COVID-19 Update

Writing Center Tutoring

The Achievement Center has switched over to Microsoft Teams for free online tutoring sessions due to security reasons, but great service is still available.  Students can request a tutoring session by emailing a tutor using their SC4 student email. The tutor will then set up a tutoring session which will be run using the free Teams app.

To schedule an online tutoring session, please visit this page:

For students who do not have reliable access to an internet connected computer using a microphone and webcam, please email for other tutoring options.

Online Writing Lab (OWL) submission

Students who might prefer using the online submission service (OWL) to receive written comments must submit their paper and an online form, and the process of doing so is quick and easy!

  • Click the “Online submission” link in the left-hand column.
  • Fill out the required information, and don’t forget to upload your paper using the “Click to choose files” link!
  • Click “Submit your paper,” and you can expect a tutor to return it to you with added comments in two business days! Please note that if you submit your paper late Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you may not receive it back until the following Monday or Tuesday, as the Writing Center is closed during the weekend.
