This page provides information related to adjustments in library services due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

SC4 Library Services - Updates & Adjustments

Even when the library building is closed, most library resources are still available online!


All students, staff, faculty, and guests must pass the health screening, properly wear a face mask, and follow social distancing guidelines to enter and use the library.


Hours & Appointments

  • The library facility is open by appointment only, Mon-Thurs 7:30am-7pm, Fri, 7:30am-4pm.
  • Librarians and staff are also available for remote support during these hours.
  • Please make a reservation to use a library computer or an individual study table.
  • Curbside pickup for circulating library materials is also available.

Printing, Copying, & Computers

  • Printing ,copying & faxing services remain temporarily suspended. Patrons with funds remaining on their print account will be able to access these funds when printing services resume. 
  • 22 socially-distanced library computers are available on the main library floor and must be reserved for use through this page.  Computers requests are honored in the order of receipt and are available up to 3 hours. Users are asked to use provided sanitation supplies before and after computer use.

Textbooks, Reserves, & Circulating Books

  • Print reserves temporarily remain suspended. Please contact a librarian for assistance. 
  • Because most libraries are still restricting physical lending of library items, inter-library loan remains limited to electronic items only.
  • Stacks remain closed. Library staff will retrieve items from the stacks upon request.
  • All circulating items will be quarantined for 7 days before being re-introduced to the collection – may cause slight delays.

Library Spaces

  • The library's capacity limit of 41 people is based on Governor Whitmer's most recent executive orders and will be strictly followed.
  • Study rooms remain unavailable at this time.
  • Information literacy sessions will be online only. (Faculty, please use this form to request a session for your course:
  • No food allowed in the library at this time.
  • The drinking fountains across campus have been temporarily turned off.
  • You are encouraged to use the provided sanitation supplies to disinfect any workspace, computer, or study table before and after use.
