About Matt Lebarre

SOURCE: MATT LEBARRE

Matt is an Illustrator, who lives in the Greater Detroit Area.  His art work has appeared in countless national publications, children's books, as well as many commercial applications.

I received my BFA at the College for Creative Studies.  I worked in a commercial art studio for seven years, went on my own and have enjoyed illustrating for a wide range of clients the entire time.

My influences range from artists like Diego Rivera, for his simplification of the human form to Alexander Girard for his color sensibilities.  But my personal interests give me inspiration for my artwork as well.

I enjoy teaching at my alma mater, everything mid-century-modern, First Nations art, and canoeing the meandering waterways of the outdoors with my beautiful wife and daughter.  The artwork I create is an important part of who I am.

I pride myself on my ability to work with my clients to create images that work well and add a colorful modernity to their project.

Matt currently is an Instructor at the College of Creative Studies and lives in Royal Oak with his wife, Erika and children.
